Autism and Reiki: How to do Energy Healing at Home

20120525-192237.jpgWe healed our family from severe autism, seizure disorder, candida, food allergies and many other health imbalances with something more than just diet. In fact, Doug, who was a skeptic about the nutritional aspect of our healing at first — jumped right on board after he had a profound physical shift with energy work. Within five minutes of distance healing, his previously shattered shoulder bones physically moved back into place. That was 7 years ago. We now use energy work every day. And we keep finding new reasons for needing it and new ways to use it.

Reiki is our energy healing modality of choice. We became Reiki Master teachers because we felt very called to learn and incorporate the Reiki teachings into our lives. For us, Reiki spring-boarded our intuitive skills and really opened us up to our life’s path. Reiki has also helped us take part in many every day miracles like stopping bleeding, relieving headaches, stress reduction, healing relationships and bigger physical things like helping clients mend broken bones and malfunctioning organs.

There are countless benefits to studying Reiki and becoming attuned. But, because you are an energy being, you can begin harnessing source energy and using it for healing yourself and your family Right Now!

It just takes some practice.

We share this with you because we believe that everyone who comes to us is a great healer. Everyone who feels called to read our site is a great a healer. A self healer. A healer for your family. We find our clients are more open to learning alternative healing modalities that will help you feel better, right? Especially where your kids a concerned.

Your openness will serve to help you the best… All else is intuitive and practice, So, remember that practice makes perfect and these techniques get way easier and more effective over time.

Self Energy Work

You must begin with yourself. After all, how are you going to help anyone if you’re unwell? The good news is that this only takes a few minutes each day. And you can do it from anywhere; the shower, the office, the car, in front of the stove, on that long-awaited beach vacation. You name it.

Step 1: Get Grounded

Always begin by getting yourself grounded (calm and alert with a centered focus) in the best way you see fit (dance, pray, sing, put your bare feet on the earth, sit with your back to a tree and repeat affirmations)

Step 2: Set Your Intention

Intention is Everything. We manifest the thoughts we are most focussed on. Set the intention to be a source of pure love energy and to allow that energy to come through your heart and hands. As you set this intention say it out loud to yourself. Imagine what it might look and feel like. Stay with it for a moment and allow it to shift you emotionally until you feel connected with your intention. Create the intention to be protected by your creator or source or whatever you hold sacred during this time.

Step 3: Conscious Breathing

Put your hands in prayer position in front of your heart and breathe consciously in and out, inhaling peace and exhaling any rubbish that you don’t need. As you inhale you can say the word “LOVE.” As you exhale, imagine emptying yourself of disruptive thoughts, you can say your own name out loud.

Once you are comfortable with your breath and feel as though you can consciously exhale healing energy, move on to the next step.

Step 4: Call in Source Energy

Imagine that source energy comes from the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. In your mind’s eye, see that energy mass spinning and sending electric pulses to our sun, and then from our sun to your pineal gland (at center of your forehead).

Visualize this power as a great white light that slides down through your head and neck and separates at your shoulders moving into your hands.

Step 5: Energetic Protection

Use your hands filled with that light to imagine creating a bubble of light around you, and intend for that bubble to be from source, and self protective. Intend for the energy in your hands to be full of source energy … which you are a part of. Create your bubble as close or as far from your skin as you need. See that the closer it is to you, the closer you are to other’s energies. The farther out your bubble spreads, the farther out your energetic protection spreads. If it is five feet around you, then the energies that are up to five feet away, will not penetrate your protective barrier.

Step 6: Loving Touch

Gently place your palms over your eyes and simply intend love and healing to yourself. You might think of something you really love. Perhaps even the love you have for yourself! Feel that love filling your heart and radiating though your hands into your eyes. Feel it inspiring a smile. Smile. You might feel heat or vibration in your hands. Hold them over your eyes for 2-5 minutes or as long as you feel called to stay.

Next move your hands softly to your:

  • Forehead
  • Top of head
  • Ears
  • Neck
  • Heart
  • Hug your shoulders
  • Stomach
  • Hips
  • Knees
  • Shins
  • Ankles
  • Feet
  • Toes
  • And any places that hurt or are calling to you

Massage any places that need to be touched more deeply.

Step 7: Wrapping it up

If you are feeling confused or agitated, then use your hands to move the imbalanced energy to your feet, and end by squeezing your big toes to ground yourself.

If you are feeling low energy, end the session by holding your hands to your heart one last time.

Remember to trust your intuition first, this is your new healing practice. Take time to listen in and make it your own.

Finish your session with gratitude and always set an ending intention to declare that you closed off your session.

For your children

Take care of your children in the same manner, but always do at least a mini session on yourself first to get that good energy circulating through you.

If your child won’t allow touch, do not worry. Many of our kids will not. Simply direct your hands and intention toward them… Or place your hands on your own body intending for the energy to reach them (some people call this surrogate work). I have had great success using surrogate Reiki healing with Dougie as well as clients.

 Important Notes

If this practice depletes your energy, that may be because you are using your own energy and not fully tapping into source energy. Or it simply may mean that you need a nap. It’s all part of the practice. This happened to me before I was attuned to Reiki. Many people don’t know how this feels and it will take a while to understand. Not to mention that it is different for everyone. But, it is in the doing that you will understand.

Becoming attuned to Reiki helps remove any mental blocks you have to allowing this energy to flow through you. It allows you to share healing without becoming depleted. It cracks open your intuition and shows you how you can be of better service to yourself and your family.
