Bliss Cleanse 2012 Eating for Manifestation– Recipes, Results and Breakthroughs

We decided to change things up a bit in Bliss Land and try a full cleanse in honor of aligning with our higher selves.

Food is not only a way to get energy, but food is vibration itself. So, of course we started playing with food — even more-so than we usually do. This cleanse incorporates high vibrational raw living foods, wild foods, power herbs, and nutrient dense superfoods. Plus, we are focussing a lot more on keeping our thoughts aligned with what we really want.

Do you know how much energy is truly wasted when you allow your mind to drift into worry, doubt and fear?

So, there will be meditation, yoga, and plenty of surprises– and of course, we are planning to share how it changes our lives.

The best part if this cleanse is that each of us is honoring our unique needs and therefore may eat slightly differently and choose different practices.

Good News! We Have a Guest Joining Us on Our Cleanse!

A great friend and dear client, Moe, has decided to join our cleanse with us. Since we are currently living in the same house– this works out best for all of us. We all have deeper support and the extra help in the kitchen is great too!

During the course of our cleanse, we will share Moe’s breakthroughs and results as this is her first cleanse and she has her own goals.

Today marks our 3rd official day Bliss Cleansing together!

The Recipes (from 9/18)

Herbal Elixir

Ingredients:
1 cup herbal decoction from 9/17
1 whole coconut (meat and water)
1/2 large avocado
1tsp cinnamon
1-2 cups carrot, ginger, celery, fennel juice (fresh)
Chlorella
MSM (for skin healing and bone healing from car accident last year)

Process:

Blend all of the ingredients together and drink as much as you need.

Us three adults had about 12 oz and Dougie had 6 oz. Then, I drank more later on in the day.

Zucchini Noodles and Sauce X 2

Ingredients/ Sauce 1:

3 cloves of fermented garlic (fermented in olive oil, coconut oil, honey, coconut kefir and raw apple cider vinegar for 30+ days)
1 avocado
1 cup sun-dried tomatoes
Juice of 1 lemon
Dash sea salt
1/4 cup delicious raw organic olive oil

Process:

Blend and mix into raw spiral-sliced zucchini noodles

Ingredients/ Sauce 2:

2 tblsp GF Dijon Mustard with horseradish
1/4 cup of amazing olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
Sea salt
Cumin, curry powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and a sprinkle of nutmeg
Shaved almonds

Process:

Whisk all ingredients together except almonds and mix into your bowl of noodles. Top with almonds.

Kale Chips ( We didn’t eat these entirely raw for purposes of Thyroid Love)

Ingredients:

1 lb of yummy kale
Juice of 2 lemons
Coconut oil and olive oil to completely coat kale
sea salt, garlic powder, curry, cumin, cayenne and nutmeg (in keeping with flavors in the noodles)

Process:

Cut off kale stems
Drench kale in the above ingredients
Line a baking sheet with the kale leaves
Bake at lowest temp for a few hours or until it reaches your desired texture.
We make them crisp but not burned ( burned food promotes cancer)

Liver Lovin Juice

As we transition into cleansing phase we ate a lot of fat on our first 2 days. We needed it. Fat is a great source of caloric energy, and also warms your adrenals and has a lot to do with brain health. But, we also wanted to give our livers some more help, as our livers must process those fats. Of course raw, organic fats are much easier to digest. ( note: there is already liver support in our elixir… milk thistle, schisandra etc)

Ingredients:
5 carrots
1bunch celery
1 fennel bulb
3 inches ginger
2 whole lemons… rind and all
2 heaping tablespoons of curry powder (cumin, saffron, turmeric, garlic)

Process:

Juice the veggies and stir in the powder

We each drank as much of this juice as we needed.

Doug had about 12 oz. Dougie had about 4 oz and i had about 6 oz. We really didn’t need more.

The key for us is not to feel bloated when drinking, and to moderate our liquid intake so as not to cool down our systems too much, feel cold, have an energy crash or experience frequent urination. These symptoms are a result of over-hydration which I experienced after going all raw vegan for a period that was too long for my body.

By over-hydrating, I actually did to myself what the Chinese Med teachers warned me about– I put out my digestive fire and wound up hungry, losing weight and energy, and being cold all of the time. So, although raw veganism worked for me for a very long time, I’ve had to adjust it to make it more sustainable and this includes moderating liquid intake.

Lemon Bars

Crust Ingredients:

2 cups soaked raw oats
1 cup shredded coconut
Coconut oil
Sea salt
Zest of 1 lemon
Handful soaked dates
Splash vanilla

Filling Ingredients:

Juice of 10 lemons
Zest of 2 lemons
2 avocados
2tblsp coconut butter
2 tblsp soaked Irish moss

Process:

Blend crust ingredients
Add in some coconut oil to both whirl it around and help it stick together once it’s formed
Form into a 6×8 in pan
Refrigerate crust for about an hour

Blend filling ingredients well, and be sure the Irish moss is completely soaked in
Pour into crust
Refrigerate for a few hours (the Irish moss will help it set really well)

Bone Broth

We had some more bone broth throughout the day. This time we seasoned it like French Onion Soup just for fun!

We also ate 3 yummy salads that Doug made with shredded veggies and various delicious combos of herbs and spices.

And then there was quinoa. All 4 of us really felt the need to have the grounding energy of quinoa.

Breakthroughs:

We are really not eating much differently than we usually do. But there is a lot more intent to stay on a high vibrational level.

We made a vision board and are of course seeing exact things come into fruition. This always amazes me!

If you remember that one of our goals was to help Dougie, cognitively. Well, we’ve seen results in the first day. He is truly connecting deeper with concepts we’ve been working– on especially with math.

Healing really happens when you sleep!

When you are awake, your immune system is awake–fighting parasites that threaten your skin, or battling fight or flight situations. But, when you sleep, your immune system goes deep within and can do things like re-populate your gut with healthy bacteria, transfer waste where it needs to go, give your organs a rest and so much more! Many of us are constantly in fight or flight stress mode and cannot heal no matter what good foods we eat.

I am grateful for the intention to get myself out of stress mode and get some real energy back.

I have been able to spend a whole lot more time meditating, and napping together with Dougie each afternoon.

Plus, we have been getting the boy in bed at moonrise. This is an amazing feat. We are very grateful for his new schedule. 😉

Autism Recovery: autism Undone Undoing the “Symptoms” Behind the Misunderstood Label of autism

The system says he’s autistic because that’s how they define environmental toxin overload: It’s not their fault — we must change the system!

To me, autism represents the overload of various toxins in an underdeveloped immune system.

This toxic burden eventually disrupts organ function and manifests itself as outward neurological, developmental, social and sensory disharmony. When the world labels an individual’s condition “autism” –the levels of toxicity and depths to which the body expresses this must be severe. This means that most of us are toxic to some degree. However, with autism, we are often dealing with immune systems that have been assaulted since pre-birth, rendering them virtually unable to naturally release these toxins like the body was designed to do.

Scientifically, toxins can build up through genetic predisposition; diet; bacterial, fungal, parasitic, viral and yeast infections; heavy metal poisoning; pollution; and are often passed down from mother to child during pregnancy and birth. Spiritually, toxins can also build up through stress and negative energy. An immune system on toxic overload can suffer malnutrition (regardless of how much food is consumed), neurologic malfunction, all kinds of allergies and autoimmune problems, sensory issues, and every other familiar trait that is regularly attributed to autism.

Most sources will classify autism as a developmental disorder, where speech, socialization and perception are delayed or seriously impaired. I reject definitions that only speak to the outward symptoms of this condition. Such sources will also neglect to offer advice for curing the autism problem.

Foundations are built on the principle of raising money to support families affected by autism – money that will help them pay for medicine and intervention. Medicine and support to help them cope with the painful symptoms, strange behaviors, and society’s ignorant remarks about their children.But nothing that gets to the core and urges them to change significant things about their lives. Families need to be aware that coping can only go on for so long.Families deserve the hope that their affected children will not have autism forever!

A Spectrum of Poison

The level of toxic build-up is as unique as the individual – resulting in a spectrum disorder. What we know for certain is that inner imbalance equals outer chaos.

When we see an individual acting out autistic symptoms like hand flapping, head banging, spinning or tantruming, – it is often a sign that the body is struggling to ease the pain of these toxins. The body wants to heal itself; and will continue to do so, in some cases causing disease and disorder as a last resort.

That is why, to me, autism also represents a final call for help – and a sign that positive change is on the way!

A person affected by autism often has great sensitivity to the unnatural (foods that have been chemically sprayed or genetically modified and overly processed, air and water pollution, traditional western medications and vaccinations, electromagnetic fields from cell phones, wifi, etc.).

I have personally witnessed remarkable transition when these unnatural things have been replaced by healthier lifestyle choices.

More children are diagnosed with autism as we continue to vaccinate them and add poisons to our planet.We have lost confidence in our own bodies’ abilities to heal ourselves and have let BIG PHARMA take control of how we medicate and prevent disease.

This is why autism was given to us. We have forgotten how to listen to our bodies, and we have traded infectious disease for chronic and autoimmune DISSARAY.

Nature Gives us The Tools to Heal: Each Person’s Needs are Unique

The best scientists support a path toward natural healing and have reported on the dangers of such toxic build-up. However, it has taken epidemic rates of autism diagnosis, (as well as other forms of toxic manifestations like allergies, ADD, and alzheimer’s ) for some of us to recognize that the way we’ve chosen to live for the last century has drastically depleted our collective health.

Conveniences like microwave ovens, and alleged safety regulations that have been placed on our food supply — like the homogenization of dairy and the irradiation of fruits and vegetables are alone causing mass malnutrition. If our food is no longer food, how can we fuel our minds?

As a disorder, autism unravels when we embrace the healing power nature provides us. This includes diet change, emotional and spiritual practices, touch and sensory therapies, and methods that evoke positive energy.

I welcome autism because it will not be cured with a pill. It will not be cured by a teacher or a doctor. In fact it requires a complete paradigm shift from the modern frame of mind.

The Gift of Autism

In order to relieve the pain that autism brings we must also honor its gift. Allowing these truly brilliant children to break through autism, means that we are giving a new hope to the world. Hope that we can finally truly learn how to heal ourselves from whatever ails us. And, as these beautiful minds become clear, these children will be the teachers that lead us into a healthier more conscious future.

Autism may just be a necessary step toward the collective detoxification of our species.

Your Gut. Your Immunity. A Key to Unraveling Autism

A child is born with a permeable gut which allows him to properly assimilate the good bacteria from his mother and benefit from the colostrum in her milk. Body Ecology refers to this as nature’s first vaccine.

This intestinal bacteria and nutrition from Mom sets the stage for the person’s immunity throughout life. This teaches the child’s body to properly respond to illness, by pushing illness out. (TH1 immune response) But, when we consider drugs used during birth, C- sections, immunizations right after birth and the stress endured in the modern labor room – we are not setting the stage for a healthy life with most of our children.

Mercury is Not the Only Problem with Vaccines

Vaccines, besides being loaded with viruses and metals, teach the body the wrong immune response (TH2 response). This forces the body to internalize illness. Thus creating autoimmune problems.

The vaccinated newborn’s gut is not allowed to develop.If the child is then put on powdered milk and soy formulas they begin to form their first digestive problems. Parents may notice this as colic, restlessness and tantrums –or there may be no signs at all.

Since our immune systems are primarily governed by our digestive tracts (colon, liver, kidneys), we find that many people on the autism spectrum begin to reject foods that cannot be easily digested and assimilated.

These foods will vary because we must consider severity and of course, the individual’s uniqueness. Gluten, casein and sugar top the list of frequently rejected foods – all of which are unsurprisingly often overly-processed, over-eaten by the general population and farmed unnaturally. If the person’s system cannot digest these which most of us consider to be food — imagine what happens when you add chemicals, fillers and whatever makes Twinkies last 50 years!

S.A.D Refers to the Standard American Diet.

And, it is sad that so many of us are filling our bodies with “foods” that have no nutritional value.

The autistic digestive tract cannot take the overload. They don’t just get stomach aches, fatigue and pimples. They lose awareness of their surroundings, they suffer horrible frustration and physical pain. They lose their words and abilities to speak their minds. They may feel the need to bang their heads or rub their faces on the wall because their skin feels numb, and they yearn for some sensation. Many children also suffer seizures.

Toxic Behavior

We have discovered behavior patterns that are directly related to specific toxins; such as incessant spinning as a result of ammonia (from protein) overload. We have heard that some children walk on their toes because it relieves the pain of a heavy gut.

We know that often overload of toxins causes mal-absorption of necessary nutrition. And, this results in malnutrition. Any good scientist will tell you that malnutrition and indigestion are the basis of most diseases.When one organ is not getting what it needs to function, all organ function begins to dwindle.

When toxins thrive the true individual cannot thrive.

Moving Beyond the Label

When I hear that there is no definite cause or cure for autism – I hear fear and laziness. I envision a collective ego that thrives on illness and disorder. I envision a system that does not want these children to break free because it would jeopardize their jobs, their beliefs, their reputations and of course THEIR MONEY.

If families identify with autism, they will be offered sympathy, statistics and half-hearted research that will inspire them to hang in there. This frame of thinking allows disease to prosper. Modern medicine profits on illness. By subscribing to the “there is no cure” bandwagon — we are keeping the negativity alive.

We are made to believe that milk does a body good and immunizations protect us.I continuously read about the dispute over vaccinations and how we are still really unsure. I am not unsure. Injecting poison into a baby is a bad thing. A bad thing! And if that poison doesn’t manifest itself as autism, it is likely to trigger allergies and chronic illness.

How long do we really want to keep playing Russian Roulette with vaccinations, processed foods, and artificially flavored lifestyles? One out of six children born today will be affected by this in childhood. And what happens when they grow up? Where do you think cancer comes from? How about Alzheimer’s?

Well, my family doesn’t want sympathy from those who refuse to research beyond the obvious. We are blessed beyond belief to even be in the same world as these children.We just want you to stay out of our healing journey, unless you are going to acknowledge that we are here. We want you to stop lying to our friends who are just discovering that their baby has a disorder which you call autism.

Parents must not be made to believe that there is some mystery behind why their beautiful little one regressed from bubbly to dazed in a matter of months! They deserve to know that their children will function properly in society! We must no longer portray children who are drastically affected by the many poisons that we have created, as some kind of idiot savants with weird behaviors!

If their little bodies were only allowed to thrive in a non toxic world, we would see more of the genius and less behavior.And, that’s why they are going to break through. Because at the core they are smarter than this system. They have the key to the continuation of humanity.

We know that there have been great scientific advancements to a cure. And quite frankly, I am grateful for all that science has done to lead me to my answers. But, there is too much miscommunication about what to do with those answers. The CDC suggests that parents discuss vaccinations amongst each other and with their pediatricians. Well, when they advertise for immunizations on the radio, what’s a parent supposed to believe?

We have plenty of great schools and programs that help. Thank you. We have tried them and we love our wonderful teachers. But, nobody has taught the teachers that there are reasons behind this.

If teachers were aware of the gut/brain connection and how environmental toxins trigger autism, these teachers would be much better equipped.

American parents should be able to rely on their government for the most up-to-date information on illnesses like this. But, our CDC’s list of recommended physicians isn’t very well rounded. DAN Doctors are changing things! Real medical doctors who advocate proper nutrition and detoxification as a means of actually RECOVERING autism are making huge strides!

We are not merely interested in helping these kids, we are interested in completely recovering them. I know that it’s a system, and I place no blame on individuals within the system who have just been doing their jobs with good intentions.

But, if those individuals are not planning to step up for the better of my baby – then I ask them to simply step down. We are here creating positive changes, and our words deserve to be heard. We deserve to be able to reveal the truth.

Their Autism Does Not Exist.

I will not prepare my son for a lifetime of not being “right” inside himself. My son is thriving and will continue to emerge from the mask created by the toxins in his body.His recovery has everything to do with eating food that provides real nutrition and heals the gut from early assaults.He is healing because his parents will not allow his little body to be attacked by vaccines any longer. And, we are not afraid of the so-called consequences.

We know that we are building his immune system to a point where he can prevent disease on his own.Geez, if everyone knew this then we wouldn’t need many vaccines would we?Because after all, it is quite likely that disease will spread if everyone just stops vaccinating, right? That is unless they all begin eating real food, and looking into their own unique nutritional and spiritual needs for balance. If we did that, we wouldn’t need so much medicine. Because disease would be something we read about in history books.

Okay, so I understand the system’s need to keep us sick. But, I’m not buying those little pills any more!

We are moving toward a greater awareness of the consequences of our past actions. We have been given a chance to change things, and I am confident that our children will experience a healthier world!

Talking to Trees and Eating Turkey: Raw Vegan Goes Meaty

One day soon, I’ll have a book out about the amazing experience I had visiting the spirit world, and being led by my guides to a complete 24 hr + journey through many of my lifetimes. I finally have a computer, and am busy getting the post-it-note and toilet paper scrolls together and ready for release.

The journey happened in early 2010, and I spent that year absorbing it. What I feel most strongly about sharing here now is the affect it had on my eating. I’ve touched on it through other blogs and on Face Book. But, my understanding is unfolding beautifully and I thought you’d like to know.

During my “journey,” my body was open like a a channel for spiritual messages to come through. Think… mediumship. The “Gina” in me was quiet and voices spoke through me to give me information about my health and life purpose. Those same guides also held my hand and flew me through centuries of experience that showed me how I wound up HERE. My husband wrote down every word. I don’t remember much of the words, but at points I recall looking down at myself talking and being kind of shocked by what was coming out of my mouth.

I keep hearing this one line “She is NOT a vegetarian” over and over and over.

Clearly, these spirit guides detailed that I was headed for huge health dilemmas if I didn’t start eating white fish, black beans, tons of fermented greens, warm soups, and foods to support my blood and kidneys. Reishi was also key, as well as cumin, curry and turmeric. They actually told me to get back to my “Indian” roots. Ones which I do not have in this lifetime.

They told me that the vegetarian thing was a form of self-sacrifice for me, that I needn’t make anymore. They referred to me honing in and conserving my energy,

I saw what could happen if I didn’t comply.

And, when I was able to validate every historical fact they showed me.. including my names (as obscure and hard to find as they were) – deciding to believe what my future holds if I listen to their guidance was an easy choice.

But darn me if it hasn’t been hell on high heels to implement. I really want(ed) to be a vegetarian. Well, until today. Yeah, it’s taken me THAT long to be okay with this. I’ve gone through stages. I’ve had moments of KNOWING I was doing the right thing. I ate the fish. I felt great. And, I lived another day in gratitude.

I heard Jesus and Einstein were vegetarians. So, was St Francis, a guide of mine who visited me on the day of my journey. Plus, I am Type A blood type – someone with low hydrochloric acid, and I have a very hard time breaking down animal protein. The thought of eating something that once had a life, a body, feelings and even perhaps a family grossed me out. It also REALLY pulls at my heart strings. I love animals. LOVE THEM. I used to dig hotdogs until I found out I could be eating hundreds of animals parts. Plus, don’t get me stared on the complete toxicity of all animal products – including the drugs and “food” they’re given, inhumane treatment, filthy and unnatural living conditions, carbon footprint, human gluttony. And the by-products they leave in our system when they go undigested.

I took the pain to some of my spiritual advisors and teachers. They all agreed that I needed to include animal products for the better of my health.

As I meditated on it more, I kept getting messages that it was okay. But I’d always find myself on either some health blog or human kindness/consciousness blog that fueled the doubt in my choice.

When I first became raw vegan, my psychic visions and healing ability spiked, and that’s when I was able to begin sharing it professionally. The raw vegan way of life really raised my vibe, and I loved how I felt as a raw vegan.

The problem was that it didn’t physically sustain me. Perhaps it could if I could afford mega supplementation. But, eating is fun. I want to eat my food. As it was, I was taking alga’s, hemp and chia, coconut kefir, EFAs, herbs, superfoods, and tons of fermented foods. TONS OF FERMENTED FOODS.

You know what I learned? Sometimes you need to get low in order to get HIGH. In Buddhism they have a saying that goes “As above, so below. 3 servings of spirulina could get me so loopy I’d be floating with the fairies. Yeah, I could probably give you the winning lottery numbers if you asked, but I sure couldn’t keep the house clean. Plus, my skin was pretty dry, I was too thin for comfort and the deep circles under my eyes shouldn’t be there.

If raw veganism was perfect for me, I would’ve felt better. Plain and simple. I considered devoting 3 hours a day to energetically medicate myself with the energies of the animal products I needed. But, sheesh — if I did that, then I’d have less time with my family and you.

In this life, I chose to be human and work with people to heal and find Bliss. For that, I need to get into and become more flowy inside my own beautiful bod. A place I haven’t really been in so long. I needed to work on getting grounded. And, bringing myself into this earth body would in fact connect me more deeply to my upper chakras. “As above, so below.” see?

I always consider the messages I receive in client sessions. There are times when I “know” that someone needs fish, lamb, eggs etc. But, inside I felt it my responsibility to live this high spiritual life, and I didn’t want to let go of the energy that raw food gave me. According to my Chinese Doctor, I was high on Chi and low on Jing (source energy that is stored in your kidneys). If Jing runs out, so do we.

One way to nourish your Jing is to spend time with plant life. And, when I became more conscious of my communication with the trees, I realized that they have always talked to me. There’s a money tree in my healing room who shares daily love with me. And, a rubber tree in front of our apartment that I NEED to hug before I come up the stairs. My husband used to get annoyed with me when I’d sporadically HAVE to stop and lay in the grass during our walks in Chicago. My heart stung with emptiness when I denied myself that gift.

At the farmer’s market, I slowly flow my way from vendor to vendor and only purchase the produce that vibes with me. The greens and veggies I can “feel.”

Now, I was starting to question eating these magnificent vegetable-creatures. Was I becoming insane? Perhaps a bit, lol! There are people who can live on breath alone, but they are not me.

I began handling my veggies with more love and care and spending more time giving thanks for their gift to me. My journey taught me that time and space doesn’t exist. I saw the reason why I am here and learned from the animals and some of their representatives that they don’t mind being eaten as long as it is done with respect. Our bodies are not us. And, truthfully, I would not desire to be eaten, but there are greater causes I’d give my life to. I don’t take a bug’s life without pure necessity, and even then.. I pray its soul moves on without pain.

Maybe a day will come when I hunt wild meat and eat it raw. Certainly this would be healthiest all around, in my opinion. But probably not. My man though, he says he’ll hunt for me, and to do it all “Avatar” style.

For right now, I’m content as I move forward with a bite of turkey or some sushi that makes me feel amazing. It’s ironic how little meat/animal products I require considering all the mental/emotional traumas I put myself through over it. Bone broth is next, thanks to my friend Debbie at the Grass-Fed Momma. Debbie is one of those people who have made this “okay” for me.

The spirits want us all to know that we do not have all of the information about food. I think that’s apparent in the recent health debates where everyone has scientific proof that their way is the best way of eating. We make up our own truth and reasons and that is okay. Food is one Easy way to affect our energy. And, our bodies always crave balance. When we eat, nutritionally, the goal is absorption. Fermented foods help with absorption, and when I have them with my animal foods they make me feel amazing. Energetically, food can do so much deeper work. The vibration connected to what you are eating means so much more than the calories and nutrients. If you are denying yourself nourishment of any kind for the sake of what someone else says is the “right” way to eat, you will lose. But, you can only know this if you can hone in on your needs and trust your intuition.

I Wanna Be A Vegetarian Again Because She is a Vegetarian

I ate meat. Well, fish. In my family that’s not meat at all and I am still really weird. But, at least I can go out to dinner with my parents and order something “cooked” for cryinoutloud.

I talked about this a little in my post “Into Bliss: Improving the Way I Eat.”  I ate all raw vegan food for about a year, and I felt amazing.  Being all raw for too long (and vegan) got me a lot off balance though. I got sick. And every ounce of me knew that I needed to incorporate fish back into my diet.

The first piece of fish I ate after coming off my high horse ( not eating animal products for at least 3 years) was so hard to eat. I cried, I prayed over it. I was so torn. I thought I could live the rest of my life without eating meat again. But, once I ate that fish, I have to tell you, I felt so much better.

It’s not easy for me to even think about eating flesh — because of the dying sea life, the toxins in the water, our over indulgence, our gluttony and poor treatment of animals. I think it would be easier for me to just remain vegetarian.

But for now, for today — this is right for me.

Food has energy. Energy that goes beyond nutritional power. Food has vibrational energy that helps heal us (if we chose the right food). There is something about the energy of the fish that grounds me.  It makes me feel so balanced. A message from one of my spirit guides told me that I am NOT a vegetarian, and that I just have to get used to that.

Funny thing is that I don’t enjoy eating meat at all. But I have always really enjoyed fish. After taking it away, I sometimes missed it.

What did raw veganism do to my body?   Well, I’m freezing and exhausted to be honest.   I have dark circles under my eyes because my kidneys are very taxed. I cannot say that I saw the signs, because I was feeling so good at first with the diet. In fact,  I didn’t even do sugar. I was not an agave, cacao person. I did my raw food diet with lots of cultured foods, and it helped me heal from candida and infections.

According to my Chinese doctor, raw food is too cooling for someone like me. But, I have found a balance and am working back to restore my energy.

Much of my diet is still very raw, but I am eating fish a few times each week to restore my strength energy and mental clarity, and for me this is working.

I think it’s important to open up to our intuition about the food we are eating. What does your gut say about that kale? Or that burger? Any food can be medicine or poison — depending on where you are in life. And, chances are that if you are making whole food choices because you are on your way to better health — then your needs will change as you go through stages of improvement.

Please don’t feel you have to label the way you eat. You just need to eat what feels good for your body. I’ve always used my intuition to tell clients when they needed to eat meat or rice or cauliflower — whatever. But I let my intuition be blinded by glimmery pictures of healthier raw foodists.

These days I just eat what my body tells me to. I get all my veggies and fruits fresh from the farmer’s market. And, I buy what I gravitate toward. This week I have collard greens, corn, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, kale, beets, garlic, cilantro, mint, basil, dill, apples, a frog melon and some peaches in my fridge.

I buy fish right when I am going to eat it. My food is raw when it wants to be. I have a delish smoothie nearly every morning! I’m not concerned with labeling my diet, but I am concerned that others may feel the need to conform.

Before making any final decisions on how you’ll eat forever, just enjoy what you are eating now. What foods are calling you?
